Ukoala Bags for EDC/CCW

Jan 25, 2023

This is the best EDC/CCW bag we’ve owned. Talk about a versatile bag … it can be worn cross-body, as a backpack, as a drop leg rig, or purse.

Where to get this CCW bag

We found our Ukoala Bags at the Mall of America in Minnesota, but we haven’t seen them stocked in any other store we’ve visited — and after viewing their website, we know why. These CCW bags aren’t stocked within hundreds of miles of our home. Because we like this bag, we regularly recommend these CCW bags to store managers whenever we’re in a survival or gun store … hopefully some of those managers have listened because people need good, attractive, and functional CCW bags. I, for one, wouldn’t be caught carrying 99% of the CCW bags I’ve seen on store shelves. As an active, outdoorsy person, I don’t want some designer knock-off or my grandmother’s “plastic” handbag with a makeshift holster compartment. I want a CCW bag that’s rugged and holds up to my active lifestyle.

You can, however, buy these EDC bags directly from the manufacturer. That being said, we don’t make any commission on this product but we highly recommend it and hope you enjoy your Ukoala CCW bag as much as we do!

Buy this Ukoala Bag or any of their other styles on the UUB website. Or, find a store that stocks these CCW bags and buy one in person.

Why we like the Yeti Ukoala CCW bag

This EDC bag looks great. It’s comfortable. It’s well thought out, and it’s rugged. It also has two pockets with velcro, ready for a holster, one zippered, one with a quick-entry magnetic snap. This particular style, the Yeti, comes in two sizes, standard and expanded. So, naturally, we got one of each. It’s waxed canvas so it’s rugged and water repellant, and the straps are wide and thick enough to be comfortable and sturdy.

We’ve used these CCW bags while on cross-country road-trips, on date nights in town, on Jeep’n trips, while attending local festivals, and more.

We love that these EDC/CCW bags:

  • Feature two concealed carry pockets

    • A magnetic hand-breach carry pouch

    • A zippered pocket

  • Have a hidden, zippered back pocket

  • Are made of 18 oz. waxed canvas

  • Have a mesh back to provide airflow between our bodies and the bag

  • Include a built-in pocket with pouches for additional EDC gear

  • Have a front pocket for a cell phone and wallet

  • Have a side pocket to hold a tactical flashlight, pocket knife, or pepper spray

  • Come with two adjustable, quick-release, heavy-duty straps

  • Have various D-rings for the straps so bags can be carried several ways

  • Functions as a backpack, crossbody bag, or around the waist with a leg strap

  • Are made to accommodate detachable Kydex holsters

  • Look great — weathered canvas, muted brass hardware, and leather accents

  • Fit close to the body

  • Don’t look like your grandma’s handbag, a cheesy designer knock-off, or a diaper bag

Some things to consider

Ukoala Bags come in several styles so you can get a CCW bag that matches your lifestyle and needs, including the:

  • Wrangler

  • Phoenix

  • Yeti

  • Yukon

  • Cowboy

  • Kangaroo

  • Double Trouble

  • Aware

Each style has specific features and is made of functional, durable materials. Styles range from casual (the Phoenix), to rustic (the Yeti), fashionable backpack (the Aware), and vintage in full leather (the Cowboy). How this CCW bag impacts our prepping efforts

We’re able to carry comfortably, confidently, and discreetly — whenever and wherever we want — according to local laws, of course. The Yeti style we chose is attractive, blends with the clothing we already wear, and looks like a high-end crossbody bag. It doesn’t scream CCW bag or EDC to the casual observer, but it certainly functions as one without undue attention.

This bag makes it easy to carry a few staple EDC supplies with pouches and pockets custom built to hold them. All this while still allowing room for a cell phone and wallet.
