A homesteading and gardening essential, we don't know how we'd survive without this gardening dump cart! We can pull it by hand or hook it behind our 4-wheeler.
Where to get this garden cart
You can find these Gorilla Cart garden dump wagons at farm and ranch stores, or have it shipped to your home via Amazon.
Yes, we earn commissions when you order through the links on this page. That’s how we fund the site, but we only review items we use and highly recommend for the journey toward self sufficiency. Learn more in our FAQs.
Why we like it
This has to be one of the most used pieces of equipment on our homestead (outside of the shovels we use to fill it with). We use it to haul soil, compost, animal waste, rocks, and any number of other items. And the good news — it comes in several sizes. We got the smaller, 7 cu. wagon size to start with and now we've added a 1,500-pound capacity Gorilla Cart to our homesteading tools.
Our Gorilla Carts have seen a lot of use in our gardening and homesteading work! We tote the small one around by hand and regularly tow the larger cart behind our four-wheeler.
We especially like that:
We can remove the handle and hook the wagon to our 4-wheeler.
It has an easy-to-dump bed even for heavy loads.
It comes with rugged, no-flat tires.
It's incredibly stable.
It can turn so tightly that we never get it stuck even in small spaces.
How it impacts our prepping efforts
This wagon is an asset now and will continue to be when/if we need it during survival situations. We can easily haul supplies, water, tools, and other equipment from one place on the property to another — by hand if necessary. And, we never have to worry about the tires going flat. That eliminates one maintenance item we need to plan for.
How we could use this in a survival scenario:
Haul water containers from storage to the home.
Move camping/cooking equipment to strategic locations in smaller loads.
Haul off debris and waste.
